(KMOV.com) – A new ride sharing service that uses pink, fluffy mustaches to stand out will start operating in St. Louis starting Friday night.

Lyft allows customers to use their smartphones and request a vehicle to pick them up. Unlike taxi services that require customers to pay a fee, Lyft allows customers to give a donation to their driver.

Instead of a yellow taxi picking up customers, Lyft vehicles have a bright pink, fluffy mustache on the front to make their vehicles stand out.

The St. Louis Post Dispatch reports that the St. Louis Taxicab Commission has issued a cease and desist letter to Lyft calling it an “illegal cab operation”.

The company promises a parade of mustached cars making their way through St. Louis city starting at 7:00 p.m. Friday.
