New research company expected to bring hundreds of jobs to area

(KMOV) – Missouri Governor Jay Nixon joined a ribbon cutting ceremony in St. Charles on Wednesday to announce the opening of a new pharmaceutical research facility expected to bring hundreds of jobs to the area.

The ceremony was held at Pharma Medica Research in the 400 block of Fountain Lakes Blvd. at 10:30 a.m.

According to company officials, the $30.8 million will bring 320 new high-tech jobs to the state withing three years.

Sources tell News 4 the company started hiring employees in late August. They say recruitment of study volunteers will start in December, and the company will begin conducting clinical trials in January.
