(KMOV.com) -- A new non-profit organization has big plans in mind to help fix a deteriorating street in the city of St. Louis.
Beloved Streets of America wants to fix an eight mile stretch of Martin Luther King Drive in what they said is an effort to bring back pride to the urban community.
CEO Melvin White said they have a large vision for what the area can become by turning a vacant lot into Legacy Village.
“Make it multi-purpose park where outdoor guest speakers, rallies,” White said, “It will be a corner stone of beginning of our revitalization of these streets.”
White estimated the project to cost just under $500,000.
