(KMOV) – The government is forcing truck drivers to take more breaks under federal rules that went into effect.
The new rules state that truck drivers must take a half hour break within their first eight hours on the road.
Their maximum driving hours for the week will be reduced from 82 to 70. The government says it’s all about safety and keeping drivers rested and alert.
