(KMOV) – Charter Communications is getting millions of dollars in tax incentives for opening a new call center in Bridgeton expected to create hundreds of jobs.
The company on Tuesday held a 10 a.m. ribbon cutting ceremony at the new facility located at 13022 Hollenburg Dr.
Charter has been approved for $2.7 million in tax incentives through the Missouri Works state program. In exchange, the company must create at least 225 jobs. In total, Charter says they plan to hire 400 people by the end of the year.
Two hundred workers were also brought to the new site from the company's Town and Country building.
The new call center was previously a Western Union building that closed in 2008. Calls that will funnel through the site were previously outsourced internationally.
