O’FALLON, Missouri (KMOV.com) – Police say a 21-year-old man is in custody after he allegedly beat a woman before attacking an officer in an O’Fallon mobile home court Wednesday morning.
Scott Davis was charged with first-degree assault, forcible rape, armed criminal action and assault on a law enforcement officer. He remains in jail on a $500,000 bond.
O’Fallon Police officials they received a call around 2 a.m. in reference to a disturbance inside a home in Pin Oak Parc.
When officers arrived on the scene, they were confronted by Davis, who was not wearing any clothes. Police said Davis reached for an officer’s gun, grabbed a stun gun instead and struck the officer with it. He also allegedly bit the officer’s face.
That’s when the officer shot Davis.
Police later learned Davis had beaten a 29-year-old woman with some sort of medieval weapon. She was transported to the hospital with serious head injuries.
The O’Fallon Police Chief said if officers had not showed up, the suspect would have likely killed the woman.
Authorities think Davis may have been under the influence of drugs. Officials said he was taken to the hospital in stable condition.
The officer who fought with the suspect suffered minor injuries. He was treated and released.
