PAGEDALE, Mo. (KMOV.com) – Murder charges have been filed against a suspect in connection with a hit-and-run wreck in Pagedale that left one child dead and another in serious condition on October 12.

Ricky Weeden, 54, was charged Friday with second-degree murder, driving with a revoked license and second-degree assault. He had already been charged with felony leaving the scene of an accident on Monday.

Investigators say 4-year-old Trayeshon Williams died at the scene of the accident Friday after a pickup truck driven by Weeden hit him and his 10-year-old brother as they were crossing St. Charles Rock Road to go to a convenience store. Trayeshon’s brother, Jayshard Conner, is at Children’s Hospital with multiple broken bones.

Police said Weeden was caught after a tipster told authorities Friday night she may know the driver of the truck.

Authorities said they ran Weeden’s name and visited the address in his file. That’s where they found a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado.

Police said they showed the truck to a person who witnessed fatal wreck. The witness confirmed the Silverado was the one they had seen drive off from the initial scene.
