(KMOV) – Multiple lanes will be closed on the Blanchette Bridge over the next couple of days as crews work to get the westbound traffic switched over to the rehabbed westbound I-70 bridge.
Only one westbound lane and two eastbound lanes will be open on Interstate 70 at the Blanchette Bridge from 8 p.m. Tuesday to 6 a.m. Wednesday.
On Wednesday from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., only two lanes will be open from westbound I-70 and Route 141 to the Blanchette Bridge. All four ramps connecting westbound I-70 to the Earth City Expressway will be closed overnight.
Then on Thursday, only one lane will be open on westbound I-70 at the Blanchette Bridge from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Friday.
Missouri Department of Transportation officials said they hope to have three lanes and an exit only lane open on the westbound Blanchette Bridge by Friday evening.
Officials say drivers should avoid I-70 and use Route 370 or Route 364 as alternative routes.
