( -- Three boys all from the same high school have been murdered in just the last six months.

The three boys, Pierre Childs, Chauncey Brown and James Moore, were victims of what many people call a violent subculture where guns have replaced fists and a post of Facebook could get you killed.

Deandra Rounds, mother of 16-year-old Chauncey Brown, said her son planned to travel to Europe next year as an exchange student.

Instead, Chauncey and two of his best friends from Sumner High School are all dead, murdered in separate shooting.

“You have violent children coming from violent homes,” said Rounds, “It spills into the schools, then it spills into the neighborhoods. This is not a game. This is a cycle.”

Round believes her son was murdered as a result of arguments that may have started in middle school.

Childs was killed in May when the area outside his how was sprayed with gunfire. Moore was gunned down in a nearby park as he waited at a school bus stop.

James Clark, a Vice-President of the group Better Family Life, said the city needs to bring more resources back into troubled neighborhoods similar to the way it approaches hot spot policing.

Clark said if that doesn’t happen the violence will never really be addressed.

Tyrell Davidson, 16, has been charged as an adult with killing Brown.
