(KMOV) – A St. Louis County woman is accused of passing out after using drugs while her 6-year-old son sat nearby last May.
Audrey Makuta, 37, was charged Tuesday with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and second-degree endangering the welfare of a child.
According to police, officers responded to a call for a possible overdose in the 1080 block of Caballo Ct. on May 22 and found Makuta passed out. She was taken away from the scene in an ambulance.
Police knocked on the door and Makuta’s 6-year-old son answered. He then asked “where his mom is.”
Authorities say officers then found a syringe with heroin in it, along with a spoon containing brown burnt residue and a bag containing a white powder.
Police say she is not yet in custody. Her bond was set at $12,000.
