 (KMOV)-- An 18-year-old mother is charged after allegedly striking her infant son with her fist and throwing a car seat at his head.

This happened at her home in the 4200 block of Lafayette in St. Louis between February 28, 2010 and March 2, 2010.

Authorities said Shakita Norman is charged with 1 count of Abuse of a Child and 2 counts of 2nd degree assault.

Norman is accused of striking her 2 month old son with her fist, squeezing his chest and throwing a baby car seat at his head.

The victim was taken to a local hospital where he is diagnosed with a skull fracture and a liver contusion. The victim has a bruise on his neck, chest and back.

Norman is currently held on a $20,000 cash-only bond.
