ST. LOUIS (KMOV) – The Missouri Department of Transportation said traffic increased again on the Blanchette Bridge Thursday morning, the fourth day since all westbound lanes closed.

According to MoDOT, while drivers continue to use Route 370 and Route 364 as an alternative, more drivers are using I-70 than earlier in the week.

Officials said I-70 eastbound traffic increased by 7 percent over Wednesday.

“The morning commute had all lanes of eastbound I-70 congested at the

Route 94 merge ramp with traffic backed up west of Route 94,” said MoDOT engineer

Bill Schnell. “We did see an increase in traffic overall on I-70, and this will continue to cause more travel delays if motorists continue to go back to I-70.”

Officials say drivers should continue to use Route 370 and 364 during morning rush hour.
