(KMOV) – Missouri State Treasurer Clint Zweifel says he has returned more than $1.4 million to five owners since the beginning of the year.
The recipients’ names were not released for privacy reason.
According to Zweifel, nearly $700 million in unclaimed property remains for more than 4.3 million owners. Of those, 64 accounts have $100,000 or more.
Of the 64, 25 are in St. Louis County and five are in St. Louis city.
Since 2009, Zweifel has returned more than $140 million to more than 450,000 account owners.
