(KMOV) – Charges have been filed against a man after police said more than 100 marijuana plants were found in his Edwardsville home earlier this month.

Kristopher Huckelberry, 37, was charged Wednesday with unlawful production of cannabis sativa plants and unlawful production of less than 15 grams of heroin.

Authorities said they were investigating the death of 26-year-old Timothy Milkovich when they learned marijuana could be in Huckelberry’s house across the street in the 600 block of Hill Ln.

Police searched Huckelberry’s house on June 17 and found 129 marijuana plants growing throughout the basement. They also found several empty heroin buttons in a bedroom drawer.

Authorities said Milkovich’s body was found on June 16 and believe he may have died the night before.

Police would not release details on his death and did not say whether the drugs found in Huckelberry’s house were connected.

Huckelberry was not in custody Thursday. His bail was set at $50,000.
