(KMOV) – More storms could hit the St. Louis area on Monday as the heat index reaches the triple digits, according to News 4 Meteorologist Kent Ehrhardt.
“Another hot summer day is on tap today,” said Ehrhardt. “The afternoon high temperature will be near the mid-90s with a heat index closer to 101 degrees!”
As the temperature rises, it’s possible we’ll see spotty storms pop up across the bi-state region in the afternoon or evening.
“I’m tracking storms from west to east across the area. I think we’ll see some across the northern parts of the viewing area and a strong storm is not out of the question,” Ehrhardt said.
After the chances for storms pass, Monday night will bring much-needed relief with high temperatures in the mid-70s and clear skies.
On Tuesday, temperatures will again be in the mid- to upper-90s with the heat index again back over 100 degrees.
