Wentzville, Mo (KMOV) - For the second time this week, U.S. Fidelis employees are being told they're fired.
Employees say as many as 100 additional employees were let go Wednesday.
In April, the company employed nearly 1,100 people at their Wentzville headquarters. As of Monday, that number was trimmed to 500.
A large number of employees showed up and discovered their security cards no longer worked.
A current manager said the majority of the call back center has been eliminated along with another department called transfers.
Employees say the firings came out of nowhwere. One employee adds that things are unraveling inside company walls.
According to a company spokesman, U.S. Fidelis is adjusting their staff levels to meet demand. The vast majority of employees cut were working on commission. The statement said Fidelis will continue to adjust to meet demand.
The company assures the public that contract holders will still have access to customer service, and their contracts are safe and not effected by the layoffs.
