ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -- MODOT says problems like the one Friday with a ramp at Poplar Bridge are likely to continue for a while.
The ramp from northbound I -55 to the bridge was closed for several hours to replace a bad expansion joint.
MODOT says the ramps around the bridge need to be inspected for safety every month instead of the usual two years. MODOT wants to replace the ramps in two years when the new Mississippi River Bridge opens.
MODOT insists the Poplar Street Bridge is structurally sound and safe.
