LAQUEY, Mo. (KMOV.com) – A Waynesville, Missouri woman who police say stole her roommate’s car has been arrested and is facing charges.

Around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Pulaski County deputies said they were dispatched to the 23,000 block of Sumpter Road in Laquey in reference to a disturbance that involved the theft of a vehicle.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with the woman in charge of the vehicle. She told them her roommate took the vehicle without asking. The owner of the car was contacted and he stated the roommate did not have permission to use the car.

At 7:50 p.m. deputies located the vehicle parked in a driveway in the 25,000 block of Route W. The occupants inside the home were contacted and the roommate, Penni Lynn Vess, 43, was taken into custody.

Vess was later charged with one count of first-degree tampering. Her bond was set at $15,000. Vess posted bond and was released from custody.
