(KMOV) – More residents in Missouri are signing up for food stamps.
Nearly one million people have applied for benefits this year.
The number of residents receiving food stamps has increased by 35 percent since 2010.
While Missouri has seen a spike in usage, the state remains below the national average.
Over the last 10 years, the amount of food stamps issued to Americans has increased by 430 percent.
