(KMOV.com) - East St. Louis is hosting a free health fair this weekend.

Doctors from across the nation are volunteering their time with Remote Area Medical, which provides free health care in communities. Patients can expect free medical examinations at the Jackie Joyner Kersee Center, starting at 6:00 a.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Patients can also get dental cleanings, fillings and extractions free of charge.

“We’re going to do free vision, which is a free eye exam. We will check for eye disease, if they need glasses then we have the prescriptions and we we’ll make the glasses,” said health fair director Ron Brewer.

Doctors said those who plan to attend should plan ahead because patients can expect to wait more than five hours to be seen.
