(KMOV.com) -- A Metro-East lawmaker wants to put more speed cameras in more Illinois communities.

Speed cameras are only allowed to be installed in the Chicago area, because the current law only allows cities with at least a million people in the population to use the cameras.

But Belleville Representative Jay Hoffman wants the legislation to include all towns no matter their population number.
