Metro East high school experiences brief security scare

(KMOV.com) – Cahokia High School told News 4 a man who was not supposed to be on school grounds caused a security scare Thursday afternoon.

According to school officials, a man entered the school cafeteria through a side door around 2:45 p.m. Officials said the man then asked for something to eat before the school security took him to the school’s front office for questioning, where officials said he could not explain why he was at the school.

Students were are asked to remain inside classrooms while school authorities questioned the man. The school district said they took him to a nearby police station. His car was towed from the school’s parking lot.
