(KMOV.com) -- A young girl in the Metro-East was approached Sunday morning by the same unknown man for the second time this summer.

The 10-year-old girl’s mother said she is frightened after her daughter was approached by a man in a car while she riding her bike to a local store.

Her mother said she was only a block from her home along Broadway in south Roxana.

“A vehicle approached her. It happens to be the same vehicle that approached her a couple of months ago,” said the victim’s mother, who wished to keep her identity hidden, “She’s on a bike. She don’t need a ride. There’s no purpose for a grown man asking a child do they need a ride.”

The girl said she was approached by the same vehicle back in June 2013.

The mother said police responded to the incident, but did not release any other information.

The Roxana Police Department was closed Sunday.
