VENICE, Ill. (KMOV.com) -- An apartment fire in the Metro-East forced residents from their homes for several hours on Sunday.
The fire broke out at a six-unit apartment building in the 1000 block of Klein around 11:30 a.m.
Venice firefighters worked to douse the blaze for about four hours. Three of the apartment units were occupied, while three others were in the process of being rehabilitated.
There is no word yet on the extent of the damage.
Officials say the fire started in the furnace room of an occupied unit.
No one was reported injured in the fire.
