ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -- Senator Claire McCaskill is touting her status as a moderate in her reelection campaign.
"They rank us from 1 to 100 in the Senate, most liberal to most conservative and you're looking at number 50," she told a lunch audience in St Louis.
Her opponent, Congressman Todd Akin, continues to link McCaskill to the President in his campaign.
McCaskill also downplayed any questions about her distance from the President saying she supports President Obama.
"I'm strong enough to tell the President to go fly a kite when I think he's wrong," she told News 4. McCaskill's campaign spokesman says the Senator has clashed recently with the President over the Keystone Pipeline and regulations on farmers.
McCaskill adds she has asked Obama to come to Missouri to campaign but he hasn't made any plans to do so.
