(KMOV.com) – A Maryland Heights company is installing dash cams for the Ferguson Police Department.
The Ferguson Police Department has agreed to let Maryland Heights based Responder Public Safety Equipment install dash cams at no charge to the department or tax payers.
Last week, Ferguson Police Chief Tom Jackson said his department received a grant from the Department of Justice to buy dashboard and body cameras. Ferguson police now own two of each.
Jackson told News 4 the problem is that the department doesn't have the money to put the technology into place. It appears only the two cameras purchased with the grant money will be installed.
The company hopes its gift will help heal and generate trust between the community and the police department.
