(KMOV) -- A St. Charles marine almost had his wedding plans ruined when his deployment date was moved up.

Luckily, the River City Rascals were there to save the day.

Sgt. Nathan Anderson and Cpl. Jessica Walley had their wedding sandwiched between a double header for the Rascals at T.R. Hughes Ballpark.

Her bouquet? A bat. An announcer introduced them as if they were going to step in the batter's box and swing the bat.

The couple had to make their wedding plans on the fly when Nathan’s deployment date was moved up.

“We were honestly just thinking of doing it at my parents’ house and having just a few people over,” Anderson said.
Nathan’s mom knew he was a baseball fan so she made a phone call, and the Rascals were happy to turn into wedding planners after hearing about the couple’s problem.

“It was amazing. The Rascals helped us out so much,” Anderson said. “This has been all so surreal. I can’t believe we just did this at a baseball game and it was awesome.

The honeymoon will have to wait for now, but at least they walked down the aisle, even if they came out of the dugout first.
