ST. LOUIS (AP) -- St. Louis police are investigating the death of a man who choked to death on a baggie of suspected crack cocaine after being stopped by officers.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that police pulled over the man's car at 1:15 a.m. Friday. Police say that soon after the stop the man fell to the ground.
Police performed CPR until paramedics arrived. Paramedics removed a knotted baggie from the man's throat. Police believe the off-white chunks in the baggie were crack cocaine. Testing will determine the substance.
The man was taken to a hospital and died. His name was not released pending notification of relatives.
