(KMOV) – St. Louis Metropolitan Police said they have two suspects in custody after they shot at a group of men trying to buy a car they saw on Craigslist in north St. Louis Wednesday night.

Authorities said three men saw an ad for a used car on Craigslist and went to the 4400 block of Elmbank to look at it.

Police said that’s when two men approached the truck as they pulled up to the home. One of the men began firing shots into the victims’ vehicle.

A man who was still sitting in the driver’s seat of his car was shot several times. The victims then drove to O’Reilly Auto Parts on Natural Bridge and asked for help.

The victim was taken to the hospital, where he is listed in stable condition.

Both suspects remain on the loose.
