EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (KMOV.com) -- East St. Louis police are reporting that a 31-year-old man was shot an killed outside a bar and grill early Monday morning.

According to reports, the shooting happened outside Yogi & Jackie's Bar and Grill in the 1300 block of North 9th Street around 2:15 a.m.

It was there, police said, Antyan Thomas was shot an killed.  Now, police are working to find out if Thomas was in some kind of argument or if he was targeted for some other reason.  Police did not say if they had any leads in the case.

Authorities report that the bar was open past the allowed time and was not in compliance with an East St. Louis city ordinance. The liquor commissioner has suspended the business's liquor license temporarily, but Mayor Allen Parks says it may have its license revoked permanently.

"This may result in the toughest discipline they can face, which is revocation," said Parks. "They may be getting their license actually revoked. "

The decision will be made during a hearing before the liquor commissioner Thursday afternoon.
