Police arrest suspects after shots fired at officers in Central West End

(KMOV) -- Police have arrested several suspects after shots were fired at an officers.

It happened around 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon in west St. Louis.

According to St. Louis police, officers were following a vehicle after a supsect displayed a gun in the 1200 block of Grattan in north St. Louis. The officers eventually lost sight of the car at Forest Park and Boyle.

Three detectives were working a separate case in that area. Police say that as the car drove by, suspect spotted the detectives and began shooting. None of the officers were injured. One of the bullets struck an innocent bystander's driver-side window. He suffered glass injuries to his arm and face. He was treated on scene.

Police say that they have the shooter in custody as well as the other people who were in the suspected vechicle.

No word yet on any charges.
