(KMOV) -- A man was shot to death in East St. Louis early Sunday morning.
Illinois State Police say Demario R. Moore, 28, of Belleville, Illinois, was shot and killed around 4:00 a.m.
According to police, Moore stopped at the Crown Food Mart gas station at 25th Street and State Street in East St. Louis for gas and walked to the store. A group of men were standing near the entrance of the store and authorities say Moore exchanged words with them. Police say several shots were fired after the exchange and Moore was hit once.
Moore was taken to a local hospital by a family member where he was pronounced dead.
