(KMOV) – The man charged in a fatal hit-and-run in Breese, Ill. chais out on bail.

Johnathon Nast, 25, post the $25,000 bail after he was arrested and charged with failure to report a motor vehicle accident involving the death of 23-year-old Lana Albert. He was also charged with obstruction of justice.

Prosecutors say Nast went to Murphysboro, Illinois to try to scrap his truck in order to hide the evidence. According to Nast, he scrapped his truck because the engine was leaking oil and had a bad transmission.
