(KMOV.com) – A Jefferson County man faces charges after police say more than 2,000 videos and images of child porn were found on his computer.
Jeremy Hobbs, 34, was charged Wednesday with sexual exploitation of a minor. He's being held without bond.
Police in Troy, Mo. received a report from the Regional Computer Crime Education and Enforcement Group in Jefferson County which contained over 1,900 images and over 200 video files containing child pornography.
Police say the images were taken at an apartment in High Ridge, Mo. that was once rented by Hobbs.
Authorities say two of the images were of an unidentified white juvenile boy that were taken within the city limits in 2011.
Police contacted a relative of Hobbs, who identified the boy in the images as her son. The woman confirmed that images were taken at her home in the 300 block of Monroe St.
Hobbs was taken into custody on Tuesday by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department. He was later transported to Lincoln County.
At the time of his arrest, Hobbs was out on bond regarding charges of child molestation.
The investigation is ongoing.
The Troy Police Department believes Hobbs may have had other victims. Anyone with information on more incidents is asked to contact the Troy Police Department at 636-528-4725.
