(KMOV) – Police say a man walked several blocks to the Central West End after being robbed and shot in north St. Louis early Wednesday morning.
According to police, the 45-year-old man was walking west on Enright near Aubert around 1:20 a.m. when he was approached by two other men.
Police say one of them pulled out a gun while the other reached into the victim’s pants pocket and took money. The victim managed to turn away from the suspect and started running east on Enright when he heard a gunshot and felt pain behind his right ear.
Authorities say he then walked nearly 10 blocks to Euclid and Maryland until he got tired and felt light headed. Someone saw him and told workers at the nearby Coffee Cartel to call 911.
Authorities responded to the scene and the victim was loaded into an ambulance wearing a neck brace. He was taken to the hospital and treated for a small wound behind his ear.
