ST. CHARLES, Mo. – A man who pleaded guilty to breaking into a St. Charles church to get some ice cream while intoxicated in March 2013 was sentenced to six years in prison on Wednesday.
Police say Andrew Steven Jung, 24, smashed in a glass kitchen door after breaking into St. Peters Catholic Church in the 200 block of First Capitol Dr. on March 8, 2013.
Responding officers found that a deep freezer had been damaged, and ice cream had been taken. Jung was spotted walking about three blocks from the church—intoxicated and with ice cream on his face and clothing.
Jung was charged with three felonies, and pleaded guilty to burglary Wednesday in a deal with prosecutors. His stealing and property damage charges were dismissed.
He was on probation for stealing and property damage, but that was revoked as part of the deal.
