ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -- St. Louis police have arrested a man in connection with three armed robberies and one attempted robbery in the city.

Police say Darien Babbitt committed all four crimes the night of January sixth, robbing six victims and nearly robbing a seventh.

Babbitt was in his car for all four attempts, pulling up to victims on the street and in their cars.

According to authorities, Babbitt first approached four victims on the corner of North 8th Street and Washington Avenue. He reportedly pulled up in his car and revealed a weapon, stealing purses, phones and wallets from two males and two females before driving away.

Shortly after 11 p.m., Babbitt then used the same strategy to rob a 27-year-old white male in the 500 block of North Leffingwell, making off with his wallet and phone.

Fifteen minutes later, Babbitt reportedly robbed a 25-year-old in the 600 block of north 6th street. Once again, he pulled up and revealed a weapon; but the victim reported a second suspect left the vehicle and removed his belongings from his pockets.

The last attempt occurred at 11:45 p.m. at the intersection of Washington Avenue and North Tucker. Babbitt reportedly pulled up next to a 36-year-old male at the street light, revealed his weapon, and demanded money.

The victim sped away, avoiding the robbery and reported the Babbitt leaving the scene as well.

Babbitt is charged with three counts of robbery, five counts of armed criminal action and two counts of attempted robbery.
