(KMOV) – A 32-year-old man faces charges after he allegedly shot his stepfather during an altercation at an Imperial home on Sunday.

Nicholaus Lohrum was charged Tuesday with first-degree assault.

Deputies say Lohrum and his 49-year-old stepdad were arguing at a home in the 3400 block of Henry Dr. around 3:15 p.m.

Authorties say Lohrum at some point grabbed a pistol and shot the victim in the stomach. The victim was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Lohrum was arrested and taken to the Jefferson County Jail where he remains on a $75,000 cash-only bond.
