(KMOV) – A man accused in a series of 2009 home break-ins was charged again last week after police said he attempted to steal televisions from an Affton house.

James Stufflebean, 36, was charged Wednesday with second-degree burglary, felony theft and possessing burglar tools.

According to police, Stufflebean went to a home in the 6000 block of Grammond Dr. on June 13 and used a crow bar to break a window. Authorities said he went into the home and tried to take two televisions, but fled the scene after dropping them in the backyard.

Police said officers obtained DNA from the crowbar, which he left at the scene. He also left a fingerprint on one of the televisions, police said.

Stufflebean was taken to the St. Louis County Justice Center where he remains on a $25,000 bond.

Last year, he was charged in six 2009 break-ins at homes in Madison County, Ill.
