(KMOV) – A 33-year-old man is in custody after he allegedly killed his father whose body was found inside a Franklin County home Thursday night.

According to deputies, family members of 57-year-old William Osborn called authorities for a well-being check after they had not heard from him in some time.

Deputies went to his home in the1000 block of Osborne Ln. around 5:15 p.m., but got no response. They forced their way inside and found Osborn dead from a gunshot wound.

Authorities say they spoke to family members and friends of Osborn and learned he and his 33-year-old son had a history of confrontations. They told officers his son had recently sold one of Osborn’s guns.

Deputies say they later determined guns, a motorcycle and Osborn’s truck had been stolen from his house.

Authorities say officers from multiple agencies began searching for the son and eventually found him at a home in the Crescent Lake Village neighborhood in St. Louis. Deputies sayd he was arrested without incident and admitted to the murder.

Osborn’s truck was later located in St. Louis, but the motorcycle and some guns remain missing.

Deputies did not identify the suspect because charges have yet to be filed.
