Man accused of slashing people with box cutter at St. Louis bus stop arrested

ST. LOUIS – Authorities said they have arrested a man accused of cutting people at random with a box cutter at a St. Louis bus stop Monday night.

Police said a 49-year-old woman was standing at a bus stop in the 4300 block of Natural Bridge around 11 p.m. when the suspect approached and started randomly slashing at people.

Authorities said during the attack, the man cut the woman in the head. She was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Police said they arrested a suspect in the case Tuesday night.

The reason for the attack wasn’t clear.

Authorities said the suspect’s identity would be released if charges were filed.
