(KMOV) – A 22-year-old Sullivan man who’s been arrested 15 times faces charges after he allegedly assaulted a woman with a knife on Friday.

Panfil Martinez was arrested and charged Saturday with first-degree assault.

Police say Martinez assaulted a 19-year-old woman at a home in the 4000 block of S. Olive St, causing injuries to her face, arms and torso.

Authorities say they recovered a knife that inflicted some of the injuries.

Martinez was arrested the next day and is currently being held at the Crawford County Jail on a $210,000 bond.

Court records show Martinez was released from prison in May after serving eight months of a 7-year sentence for second-degree burglary and drug charges.

Sullivan is located about 65 miles southwest of St. Louis.
