(KMOV) – The St. Louis County Prosecutor's Office has named the suspect in the murder of a south St. Louis County woman, whose body was found in Sunset Hills.

James L. Harvey, 37, of south St. Louis is in police custody.  He has been charged with one count of second-degree murder.

49-year-old Sherry Bladdick's body was found last Saturday on a lawn in the 10000 block of Anton Place. Anton Place is a subdivision in the southern end of Sunset Hills near St. Anthony’s Medical Center.

An autopsy revealed that a broken neck was the cause of death. Police tell News 4 that Harvey has admitted to having a physical altercation with Bladdick that resulted in her becoming unresponsive.

Bladdick worked as an accountant for the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center in west St. Louis County.  It had no comment about Bladdick's death.

News 4 also has found that Bladdick just finalized a divorce and had her maiden name of Sherry Ann Schmidt restored. A police source tells News 4 that it was Bladdick's ex-husband who insisted on an autopsy for her.

Authorities tell News 4 that Harvey was a registered sex offender that was staying at a hotel on Lindbergh. He was charged for criminal sexual abuse in 1995 in Rock Island, Illinois.
