(KMOV)-- A St. Louis woman is being called a hero after preventing the Tucson gunman from firing any additional shots.
Patricia Maisch, who grew up in South County, was able to grab the magazine away from the shooter when he was trying to reload his gun.
Maich said that the shooter dropped the magazine when he pulled it out of his pocket and she was able to grab it before him.
Witnesses say when the shooter emptied his first clip, he was wrestled to the ground by two men.
Maisch, known then as Patricia Donovan, went to St. Francis of Assisi Grade School and Notre Dame High.
