(KMOV) -- An elderly North St. Louis County woman told News 4 she’s been forced to use her oven for heat because her apartment complex has ignored the fact she hasn’t had heat in days.

News 4’s Lauren Trager talked to a representative of Meadow Glenn apartments in Spanish Lake on the phone, days after Maggie Osby, 70, began begging for help.

“Three days and three nights I been like this so I called Channel 4 News,” Osby said. She has been shivering away in her apartment, huddling dangerously close by her oven.

“I’m ready to cry because they’re ignoring me,” she said.

A maintenance man told her on Sunday the heater was fixed, but when News 4 crews were there, the unit was silent, even with the thermostat all the way up.

The complex representative ensured the problem would be fixed by Tuesday morning. In the meantime, Osby will spend yet another night in the cold.

“They supposed to look after seniors, they’re not looking after me,” said Osby.

News 4 will continue to follow up on this story.
