(KMOV.com) – Many parents in the St. Louis Public Schools District received a notice to send their child to the wrong school.

The district recently sent a notice in the mail reminding parents to send kids to school on the first day, but 3700 parents were told to send their children to a school other than the one that had been assigned. For example, some parents who send their children to Sumner High School were told to send them to Roosevelt High School

The district told News 4 someone on their staff made a mistake, which they are trying to fix

“It’s unacceptable, we don’t like to see things like that happen. We are very sorry and we have apologized to parents for it,” Patrick Wallace with St. Louis Public Schools said.

The district is currently sending out robo calls to parents to say a mistake has been made. District officials said letters with the correct schools were mailed out Wednesday.
