ATLANTA (KMOV.com) - A local airport announced an agreement to be post for trade with China on Wednesday.

MidAmerica Airport in Mascutah, IL reached an agreement in January, 2012 with Ningbo Lishe International Airport in China to organize freight from each airport to assist carriers, assist air carriers to start new service, assist all trade route users with government approvals and support, and coordinate joint discussions and joint marketing to the users of the trade route. The agreement was announced at the International Air Cargo Association Forum in Atlanta.

In June, a key component of the joint effort began as North Bay Produce, Inc. celebrated the grand opening of its $5.7 million, 36,448 square foot refrigerated, perishable warehouse at MidAmerica. The Michigan based company is looking to export its product to Asia.

Ningbo Lihse will be a post for products that will be traded by Chinese companies to Central and South America.
