(KMOV) – A Lincoln County woman was charged on after she allegedly ran over a man moments after he spotted her punching a child.
Kathryn Vigil of Foley, Mo., was charged Monday with felony domestic assault.
Police say Vigil, 30, ran over her boyfriend on the 100 block of Country Hill Estates soon after police were en route for a domestic disturbance.
According to the victim, the altercation broke out after he saw Vigil punching a three-year-old with both hands inside the residence.
During the course of the argument, Vigil reportedly began throwing items from around the house at the victim who then fled to the home of a neighbor.
The victim waited there for several minutes before returning to the house to retrieve his son.
At that moment, Vigil allegedly loaded her two children into a vehicle and headed toward the neighbor’s home.
The victim told police, he was attempting to stop Vigil when he stood in front of her vehicle.
She then nudged him several times with the car before hitting him hard enough that he fell to the ground.
According to the report, the victim was able to jump up and remove the keys from the vehicle. Once emergency medical teams arrived, he refused medical treatment and did not appear to be suffering from any apparent injuries.
Vigil was taken into custody at the scene.
As the investigation unfolded, deputies determined the suspect’s residence was unlivable and that the children were living in deplorable conditions.
The three children were taken into protective custody before the Division of Social Services placed them in foster care.
Vigil is currently in custody at the Lincoln County Jail with a $50,000 cash only bond set.
The investigation is ongoing.
