(KMOV) -- Parents and students were put on alert by a west St. Louis County school Monday after a letter was sent home warning parents about charges against a local tennis coach.
Administrators at Villa Duchesne and Oak Hill School sent home a letter Monday notifying parents about a local tennis coach who was facing charges for statutory rape.
News 4 obtained that letter and discovered the school had received erroneous information.
According to the letter, Chesterfield police had charged Javier Pozo with statutory rape. Furthermore, the letter makes it clear that Pozo is not an employee of the school.
However, the letter suggested he may have been hired by school families for tennis lessons.
According to authorities, an investigation revealed there is one victim in this case.
However, News 4 spoke with police and learned that Pozo is not connected to the school or the families.
