(KMOV) -- “Travel and Leisure” asked its readers to rank the best and worst cities to travel, and they would probably rather skip St. Louis’ Lambert Airport if they could.

Lambert came in third. Third worst that is. Lambert officials said they have heard the comments before, which is why they’ve spent millions of dollars to renovate the airport.

TaL’s readers said the airport’s food and shopping was unimpressive, and ranked last in airline clubs.

It doesn’t help that Lambert looks dreary in areas, but Lambert just spent $2.8 million on new signs, baggage claim and resurfacing the main terminal dome. A $50 million renovation will begin with new floors, bathrooms and lights in November.

Travelers in Lambert also have to pay $8 for wi-fi access. Officials said it isn’t unusual for an airport to charge for access and will stay with the charge for now.
